As part of our assistance to industry and the wider public, Acoustar offers study programs for personal interest and continuing professional development. The modules are available for 'Recognition of Prior Learning' within the Acoustar training programs.
Acoustar is a registered training organisation providing structured self-paced ‘at-home or work’ Short Course and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) modules in noise monitoring, noise evaluation and noise risk management. A Statement of Attendance is awarded on completion of a Module. Each module is a guided learning program of a minimum 6-hours’ home or work study and assignments and 4 hours’ mentored practical training:
- Noise evaluation in practice
- Legislation, standards, guidelines
- Basic acoustic principles
- Sound and noise measurements
- Noise monitoring instruments
- Sound propagation and noise mapping
- Practical noise surveys
- Specialist topics as required
Our training is designed for field staff, site coordinators, Health & Safety Representatives, managers and senior personnel employed by enterprises/unions/regulatory authorities in a wide range of industry sectors, such as: building and construction; manufacturing; residential building design and certification; regulatory compliance. We also assist people needing ‘return to industry’ field work.
Short-Course or Continuing Professional Development courses are offered as modules for selfdirected study at home or work. Some CPD courses are available as a mentored training program at a student’s place of work or at our training rooms.
